The Last Russian Izhmash & Kalashnikov & Saiga AK's in the US

Bottom Line Up Front, under Executive Order 13662 the importation of new Izmash-produced (true Kalashnikov factory) firearms into the United States is banned indefinitely as of July 16, 2014, but the last few hundred authentic Izmash imported AK-47 and AK-74 Saiga rifles are available from DEGuns.net as the IZ132L AK-47 7.62x39m for 579.99 and the IZ240L AK-74 5.45x39mm for $579.99.

On March 20, 2014, President Barack Obama signed Executive Order 13662 “Blocking Property of Additional Persons Contributing to the Situation in Ukraine” which was designed, ostensibly, to provide an incentive to withdraw from the conflict in Ukraine. The real travesty happened on July 16, 2014, when the Department of Commerce announced expanded sanctions on Russian companies and products, including Izhmash & Kalashnikov (Saiga) firearms.
"OFAC introduced the Sectoral Sanctions Identifications List to identify persons operating in sectors of the Russian economy identified by the Secretary of the Treasury pursuant to Executive Order 13662. Directives found within the list describe prohibitions on dealings with the persons identified."
